long week's journey

Once again, those intrepid souls at Canada Post have successfully completed their mission. Sort of. Delivering a package from Quebec to Nova Scotia, across the vast province of New Brunswick, would take time. I knew that. So I waited. And I waited. And I waited. And when it seemed like I'd been waiting a ridiculously long time, I tracked the package.

Imagine my surprise. It seems it hadn't taken it that long to arrive after all. It was here. They just hadn't bothered to tell me. Kudos on another job well done.

And thank you Pumpkin Brain for your contribution to my small but expanding collection of Halloween-themed beer label art. They'll fit in beautifully.

hehe - at least you had the sense to track it, rather than letting it just turn to dust at some post office somewhere.

You're welcome! I was happy to help!
A small note about these labels. Their origin come from two legends of the Quebec Folklore. The label "Maudite" is for the "Chasse-Galerie" and the label "Trois-Pistole" is for a legend regarding a black horse when the church was built.

PB - Thanks for the links. It's always interesting to learn the history behind an object.

jaz - Nice to meet you. I've taken a look at your collection. You have some great pieces.

DL - Yeah. I wonder how long it would have sat there. Makes you wonder what other "lost souls" might be lurking in the local post office :)

It's no better here in the US, our post office smashes things at random.
I asked our post master if they would be running a certain package through a machine, and he said "how about I save some time and smash it now" To his credit, he was joking, but It happens all the time. We need steel envelopes and boxes But that would add to the weight!
